\"\"<\/a>Jos\u00e9 P. Garcia-Sabater<\/strong> is Full Professor of Operations Management in the Departamento de Organizaci\u00f3n de Empresas at the Universidad Polit\u00e9cnica de Valencia. He received his Ingeniero Industrial Degree and his PhD from the University Polit\u00e9cnica de Valencia (Spain). He also received a Combined Eng Degree from Coventry University (UK).<\/p>\n

Professor Garcia-Sabater is currently the Head of the Department of Business Management at the UPV. He is also member of the Governing Board\u00a0of the University.<\/p>\n

Professor Garcia-Sabater’s research and teaching interests are in the areas of supply chain management, operations management, and management science. He is member of the Scientific Committee of congresses and Editorial Boards. His work has appeared in journals such as European Journal of Operational Research, International Journal of Production Economics, Fuzzy Sets and Systems, Discrete Applied Mathematics, Production Planning and Control, Journal of Industrial and Engineering Management, Flexible Service and Manufacturing Journal and others.<\/p>\n

Prof. Garcia-Sabater’s research has focused on empirical studies of operations management in several key industries mainly at the Automotive Industry. These studies have examined mainly Production Planning and Inventory Coordination, but he has also developed in other areas like Assembly Line Balancing for handicapped people. His algorithms are running the assembly line sequencing process at Ford Espa\u00f1a Assembly Line, and many other SME enterprises are using software and algorithms that has been developed by himself. He also leads the Research Team ROGLE focused on the links Operations Management.<\/p>\n

Prof Garcia-Sabater actively leads projects with industrial companies mainly ate the automotive sector and the food industry. He has led (and leads) a number of regional and national funded projects, and has partipated (and participates) in European Funded Projects.<\/p>\n

Prof. Garcia-Sabater is founder \u00a0of an action research group named ROGLE focused on transfer of High Performance Manufacturing techniques to SME. Prof. Garcia Sabater main expertise is on the \u201chard techniques\u201d and some of his colleagues have the expertise mainly on the \u201csoft techniques\u201d related with people.<\/p>\n
